Fastest boats, best sailors take to Hudson River
NEW YORK (FOX 5 NY) - The best sailors and fastest boats hit the Hudson River on Saturday and Sunday as part of the America's Cup World Series.
The international boat race is part of the lead-up to the 35th America's Cup taking place in Bermuda in 2017.
The teams will be competing on foiling, wing-sailed catamarans.
Oracle Team USA will face Artemis Racing, Land Rover Bar, Emirates Team New Zealand, GroupAMA Team France and Softbank Team Japan.
Free viewing is available from the New York City side of the river along the Battery Park City Esplanade.
Public areas near the lower end of the Jersey City waterfront and inside Liberty State Park are options for fans on the New Jersey side.
Racing is scheduled to take place from 2 p.m.- 3:30 p.m. on both days.
