Fairburn server gets nasty note instead of tip

Serving tables is often a thankless job, but a customer at one local restaurant just proved it can be heartless too.

Instead of leaving a waitress a monetary tip, a customer opted for a message instead, writing "Kill Yourself."

Yuridia Tobias, a waitress at Cozumel Mexican Restaurant on Old National Highway is the waitress who received that mean tip. "To take the time to really write that to anybody. It's just really uncalled for," said Tobias.

Tobias posted the receipt on her Facebook page. "I don't want sympathy. I want people to understand this isn't right. There are people who literally lose their lives over this," said Tobias.

And she can't figure out what she did to deserve this.

"I gave them their appetizers, got their drinks and I'd come back and check on them every so often and they seemed to be doing fine. They didn't seem rude or not polite or bothered or anything."

Tobias said she's not upset they stiffed her on a tip, even though she depends on tips to survive. But she says no server deserves this and wants to find the customer who left the message.

"I just want to know why, what went through your mind. What did I do to make you write that," said Tobias.
