Authorities are offering a $2,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction of whoever abandoned a neglected dog outside the Smithtown Animal Shelter on August 2, 2016.

The miniature poodle was tied to the front gate with an oxygen tube, according to the Suffolk County SPCA. He was "emaciated and in critical condition, covered with fleas and the eyes were filled with discharge," Suffolk County SPCA Chief Roy Gross said.

The pooch is anemic from the flea infestation. Veterinarians are treating the dog, which is about 14 years old.

Suffolk County SPCA Detectives are investigating. If you recognize the dog or have any information, you can call the Suffolk County SPCA at 631-382-7722.
