Elderly man assaulted in unprovoked attack

An 81-year-old man was punched in the face in an unprovoked attack in the Bronx, police said.

Cops are looking for the man seen in security camera video walking up to the victim from behind and striking him once in the face. The victim then falls to the ground.

The assault occurred on July 15 at about 11:10 p.m. as the man was walking in front of 698 Courtlandt Avenue.  The assailant took off on foot northbound on Courtlandt Avenue.

The elderly man was treated at Lincoln Hospital for pain and bruising to the face.
