Dog missing from Arizona found in Pennsylvania
NEW YORK (FOX 5 NY) - A missing dog is on his way back to his owners, more than 2,000 miles away.
A Good Samaritan found Jake in Roaring Springs, Pennsylvania and brought him to a local veterinarian.
The dog had a micro-chip and his owners were contacted. It turns out that Jake had disappeared a year and a half ago from the family's yard in Phoenix, Arizona.
"Over the year that Jake was missing, we cannot begin to imagine what he went through!" the family who found Jake wrote on a fundraising website.
"Was he stolen? Did he wander off and get picked up by a trucker? Did he just keep on walking until he ended up in PA? We have no idea, but we do know he has a family very excited and completely overwhelmed with the possibility of him coming home to them!"
The family is asking for any financial help to get Jake home. The cost, they say, is $500.
"We have graciously paid that because this story is something out of a movie but we really did not and do not have the funds to do so. We are asking for some help to cover these expenses to get Jake ready for his journey HOME! "
