Deputies: Homeless woman lit boyfriend on fire

DeLAND, Fla. (AP) — Authorities say a homeless Florida woman set her boyfriend on fire because she was angry that he did not provide her with drugs.

The Volusia County Sheriff's office says that 41-year-old Annie Harper doused her boyfriend's shorts with lighter fluid and then set him on fire at a homeless camp in the woods outside DeLand. The victim told deputies that they got in an argument because he was not providing her with drugs.

Harper remained jailed Monday on an aggravated battery charge. A second misdemeanor battery charge was added after a witness reported seeing Harper kick the 34-year-old man as he was lying on the ground naked.

Deputies say Harper told them the man set himself on fire after the argument.
