Denton man arrested for parents' stabbing death
DENTON, Texas - Denton police arrested a man for killing his parents in their home on the southeast side.
Police said 40-year-old Stephen Scott called 911 around 2:30 p.m. Sunday to report that his parents were dead.
Officers responded to the home in the 1300 block of Lynhurst Street, just north of Sam Houston Elementary School. They found 75-year-old Marion Scott and 70-year-old Linda Scott both with fatal stab wounds.
Investigators recovered a possible murder weapon but still don't have any possible motive for the killings. Officers said Scott admitted to killing his parents and he now faces two counts of capital murder.
According to court documents, Stephen Scott called 911 just after 2:30 p.m. and his voice was stressed and he was breathing heavy. The crime scene included a broken picture frame on the floor and damage to the sheet rock in one area of the hallway.
There were signs of a struggle, but no sign of forced entry.
Records show a 911 call was made in 2002 where the father, Marion, said his son was out of control.
