Deadly motorcycle crash inside Lincoln Tunnel
NEW YORK (FOX 5 NY) - Port Authority Police are investigating the death of a motorcycle passenger inside the Lincoln Tunnel early Wednesday morning.
The 23-year-old woman from Brooklyn was killed in the New Jersey-bound North Tube at about 3 a.m. .
The 35-year-old male driver of Hyde Park, NY was injured, according to Port Authority Police.
It was not clear what caused the crash.
The tube was closed for several hours causing extensive delays both inbound and outbound during the morning commute. All lanes reopened at about 6:30 a.m.
Residual delays continued hours later.
Motorists were advised to use an alternate Hudson River crossing.
NJ Transit warned customers that they may experience extensive delays to and from the Port Authority Bus Terminal.
NJ Transit trains and NY Waterway ferries cross-honored all bus tickets.
