Dead cat found in cage floating near dock on Long Island

Two brothers made a shocking find on a beach on Long Island on Sunday.

They were walking on the dock at the end of Corey Beach in Blue Point when they saw something floating in the water.

When they pulled the object out of the water, they realized it was a locked metal cage with the body of a cat inside, according to the Suffolk County SPCA.

"We are asking for the public's help to try to find the individual(s) who can share any information that they may have relating to this gruesome discovery," the Suffolk County SPCA said in a statement.

If you know anything about who may have drowned this cat, you can call the SCSPCA at 631-382-7722. All calls are kept confidential.
