D.C. murder suspect could be headed to Carolinas; authorities offer $35,000 reward for information

A murder suspect could be on his way to the Carolinas, authorities say. They're offering up a $35,000 reward for any information that leads to an arrest.

Marcus Antwain Whitaker has been charged with second degree murder after a person was found shot to death in a Washington D.C. neighborhood on July 27, 2018.

They believe Whitaker may have fled D.C. after the deadly shooting, and could be headed to New Jersey, Maryland, North Carolina or South Carolina. He may have cut his hair to disguise his identity.

Whitaker is a black man, 5 feet, 11 inches, weighing about 140 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes.

A reward of up to $10,000 is being offered by the U.S. Marshals for information leading directly to his arrest, and the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department is offering up to $25,000.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the U.S. Marshals Service Communication Center at 1-800-336-0102 or submit information through the U.S. Marshals Tips app at www.usmarshals.gov/tips.
