Cops bust Times Square topless lady, handler

Undercover police officers night arrested a Times Square desnuda and her handler on drugs and prostitution charges on Wednesday, the NYPD said.

The cops engaged in a conversation with Destiny Romero, 20, in Times Square at about 9 p.m. Wednesday when they say she introduced them to Jason Perez, 22, who offered to sell them drugs, according to the NYPD. The cops then met Romero and Perez nearby where the pair sold the officers some cocaine and five ecstasy pills, police said. The New York Post reported that the meeting took place in a hotel room near Times Square. Romero offered to perform a sex act on one of the cops for money, the Post reported. Cops charged Perez with felony criminal possession of a controlled substance, felony criminal sale of a controlled substance, misdemeanor promoting prostitution, and marijuana possession, a violation.

Mayor Bill de Blasio and Police Commissioner Bill Bratton have vowed to deal with the situation in Times Square regarding the topless painted ladies, known as desnudas, and the costumed characters, although it is not clear what legal options they have.
