Cops arrest suspects in brutal assault of elderly man
NEW YORK (FOX 5 NY) - Police on Thursday arrested two people in connection with the attack on a 75-year-old man West Village on Wednesday afternoon.
Video from security cameras shows a man punching, kicking and knocking the man to the ground in front of 120 West 14th St. in Manhattan at approximately 2:12 p.m. The victim was punched in the back of the head and knocked to the ground. He was then kicked in the face. The attacker and a lookout fled the scene, eastbound on West 14th St.
Police arrested Deangelo Coleman, 20, and Brianna Crusade, 19. Coleman was charged with assault while Crusade was charged with grand larceny, the NYPD said.
When police arrived, the elderly man was found unconscious and rushed to Lenox Hill Hospital. He was listed in stable condition.
It is not clear what prompted the assault. The man was not robbed of any of his belongs, according to police.
