Citi-Bike expands into new places

Citi Bikes are pedaling into new neighborhoods this summer as part of a large expansion plan which will double the amount of bikes available throughout the city.

The first part of the expansion will put nearly 80 new stations in Brooklyn in places like Williamsburg, Greenpoint and Bedstuy.

Another dozen are coming Long Island City, which is a first for Queens.

In the fall, even more stations will pop up all around Manhattan.

The expansion is being paid for by Citi-Group which hopes to have 12,000 bikes on the city streets by 2017.
