FDNY rescues 15-year-old impaled on Queens playground fence
QUEENS - A 15-year-old was impaled by an iron fence at a playground in Queens on Tuesday afternoon, according to FDNY officials.
Crews found the teen stuck around 3 p.m. near 2203 Himrod Street between Tonsor Street and Metropolitan Avenue in Ridgewood.
What we know:
First responders worked carefully to free the teen, using a saw to cut the fence while ensuring the post remained stabilized in the teen’s leg.
The teen was then transported to a nearby hospital with the post still in place to prevent further injury.

The teen is currently receiving treatment at Bellevue Hospital. Authorities have not provided further details on how the incident occurred or the teen’s current condition.
