Bus driver accused of kissing teen rider
NEW YORK (FOX 5 NY) - A Long Island man faces child endangerment charges after police say he tried to kiss a student who was riding on his bus.
Suffolk County Police say Joel Cedeno, 62, of Shirley was driving a bus for Montauk Bus when he pulled over on Main Street in Patchogue on March 19 at 6:16 a.m. and asked a 15-year-old female student, who was the only passenger on the bus, for a hug.
Officers say she offered a handshake and then Cedano kissed her.
The girl's mother reported the incident to the Patchogue-Medford School District where the girl attends school. School officials called police.
Cedeno was arrested and charged with endangering the welfare of a child. He was released and scheduled to be arraigned on May 21.
His status with the bus company was not immediately available.
