Brooklyn teen drowns in Virginia

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (AP) — Police say a 19-year-old New York man has drowned in a hotel pool in Virginia.

Albemarle County Police spokeswoman Carter Johnson tells The Daily Progress that the drowning was ruled as an accident.

Rescue crews found the man in the pool at a Comfort Inn at about 9:30 p.m. Sunday. Police say he later died at the University of Virginia Medical Center.

Police say the man was visiting Charlottesville from Brooklyn, New York. His name hasn't been released.
