Brooklyn ceremony honors WWII vets

A special event in Brooklyn was held to honor veterans from the greatest generation. Dozens of WWII veterans from Brooklyn attended the ceremony at the  Brooklyn War Memorial in Cadman Plaza.

It featured a wreath-laying ceremony and a 21 gun salute.

327,000 Brooklynites served during WWII.

More than 11,000 of them died in the war.

This event also raised money to restore the memorial and to create a veterans center.
