Bronx baby dies from head trauma

NEW YORK (FOX 5 NY) - A New York City man is under arrest in connection with the death of a one month old baby who was found with trauma to his head.

Police were called to Lincoln Hospital on Monday March 18th just before midnight.

Hospital personnel told police that EMS had responded to an apartment at the Mill Brook Houses on 137 Street in the Bronx.  They transported the baby to the hospital in serious condition.  The child was subsequently transported to Colombia Presbyterian Hospital but it was too late.

The little boy was identified as Aiden Rodriguez.  The Medical Examiner will determine the cause of death.

The NYPD later announced the arrest of 24-year-old Christian Rodriguez in connection with the infant's death.  It was unclear if he is the boy's father.

Rodriguez faces several assault charges.
