'Brangelina' break-up due to Pitt affair: report

The end of the Hollywood power couple Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie Pitt was reportedly the result of an affair Pitt was having with actress Marion Cotillard while on the set of the movie, 'Allied,' according to Page Six.

Jolie Pitt has reportedly filed for divorce from Pitt on Thursday. According to court documents obtained by TMZ on TuesdayJolie Pitt, 41, cited irreconcilable differences in the filing.

The couple have six children.

“She hired a private eye because she felt that he was fooling around with her on the set, and it turns out, he was. And that was the final straw," a source told Page Six.

But the Jolie Pitt camp has told a different story.

"This decision was made for the health of the family. She will not be commenting, and asks that the family be given its privacy at this time," said attorney Robert Offer in a statement, according to CNBC.

Jolie Pitt was also reportedly upset with Pitt's parenting methods. Sources told TMZ that Jolie Pitt became tired of Pitt's use of marijuana and an apparent “anger problem." She asked the judge for primary physical custody and joint legal custody.

"I am very saddened by this, but what matters most now is the well being of our kids. I kindly ask the press to give them the space they deserve during this challenging time, said Pitt in a statement to People magazine.

She is represented by divorce attorney to the stars Laura Wasser and is not asking for spousal support.

The powerhouse couple married in 2014 and were together since 2004 when they met on the set of the movie, 'Mr. and Mrs. Smith.'

The separation date is listed as September 15, 2016.

Jolie Pitt was previously married to actors Johnny Lee Miller and Billy Bob Thornton.

Pitt, 52, divorced ex-wife actress Jennifer Aniston in 2005.
