Boy who almost drowned on cruise ship dies
NEW YORK (FOX 5 NEWS) - A boy who nearly drowned while aboard a cruise ship survived two days before dying in a New York City hospital, according to InsideEdition.com.
The 8-year-old boy, identified by SILive as Prince Adepoju of Maryland, was found in a swimming pool aboard Royal Caribbean's Anthem of the Sea on June 30. He died July 2, according to Staten Island University.
"We are heartbroken to learn the news," Royal Caribbean said in a statement. "Our thoughts and prayers are with the family at this terribly sad time."
Medics performed CPR on the child. The ship altered its course back toward Bayonne, New Jersey, and he was airlifted to the hospital.
