The NYPD and emergency personnel responded to the Mott Haven section of the Bronx on Wednesday after a boy was shot in the leg.

The boy, 7, was rushed to Lincoln Hospital where he is being treated.

The boy was walking with his grandmother near the Mill Brook Houses on East 137th Street and St. Ann's Avenue just after 12 p.m. when gunfire erupted and he was hit, police said.
