Body found in Jersey City lake identified

JERSEY CITY, N.J. (AP) -- The death of a woman whose body was found in the lake of a northern New Jersey park last weekend has been ruled a homicide.

Hudson County prosecutors said Thursday that the determination was made after a preliminary autopsy by the state Regional Medical Examiner's Office in Newark.

But they declined further comment of the death of Caroline Cano, citing the ongoing investigation.

The 45-year-old Jersey City resident's body was found early Sunday at Lincoln Park in Jersey City.

It's not clear how long the body was in the water before it was found or how it got there.

No arrests have been made.
