Bird strike damages Delta plane at JFK Airport
NEW YORK (FOX5NY) - A Delta plane had to return to John F. Kennedy Airport after a bird strike shortly after takeoff.
It happened Saturday morning about 8:20. Delta Flight 2836, an Airbus 319, was hit in an engine by at least one bird.
The plane quickly returned to JFK and was inspected by the Port Authority Police Department's Aircraft Rescue Fire Fighter Unit. Images released by the Port Authority PBA showed damage to the blades on the engine.
No one was hurt in the incident.
