Barter for a beverage at Brooklyn 'coffee shop'
NEW YORK (FOX 5 NEWS) - If you're tired of complaining about New York's steep coffee prices, you may want to pay a visit to the pop up coffee shop at El Museo de Los Sures in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, where a cup of coffee can be had in exchange for anything of value.
The project, created in collaboration with the international studio and curatorial program, is called Aridoamerica Winter Plan. It's part coffee shop and part exhibition, exploring the meaning of currency beyond dollars and cents.
For visitors from all walks of life, it's an opportunity to gather for a cup of coffee, play the ancient game of Patolli, and trade goods and services with each other just in time for the holiday season.
I bartered a MetroCard for coffee.
If you'd like to barter for your beverages, the pop up shop and exhibition will be open through March 30.
