JERSEY CITY, N.J. (AP) — A judge has denied a bail reduction for two Pennsylvania residents arrested last week when they attempted to drive into New York City with a cache of weapons
Their attorneys were in court Wednesday in Jersey City asking a judge to allow them to post 10 percent of their $75,000 bail instead of the whole amount in cash.
John Cramsey, Dean Smith and Kimberly Arendt have pleaded not guilty to weapons charges. Arendt has a new attorney and wasn't at Wednesday's hearing.
They were arrested as they prepared to enter the Holland Tunnel in a truck carrying weapons including a semi-automatic military-style rifle, a shotgun and five handguns.
Cramsey had posted on Facebook he was heading to New York to "rescue" a 16-year-old girl whose friend had overdosed on heroin.
