NEW YORK (FOX 5 NY) - A 15-month-old baby girl who was turning blue and foaming at the mouth was saved by an NYPD officer in Brooklyn.
According to the NYPD, the baby's mother frantically banged on the window of a police officer's vehicle Saturday evening in Brighton Beach with the child in hand and asking for help.
The cops radioed for an ambulance and an officer who was also EMT-certified responded.
Officer Daniel Newman and Lieutenant Patrick King rushed the child to Coney Island Hospital. On their way, Officer Newman swept the baby's mouth with his finger to clear any obstructions and administered chest compressions, according to police.
The baby's heart began to beat as they pulled into the hospital and she began to crying
The baby was examined and released.
