Baby found in campus trash

A South Carolina teen is charged with abandoning a baby in a dumpster.  Luckily, work crews found the newborn alive.

19-year-old Amber Fulton is being charged with attempted murder and unlawful conduct toward a child.  She is a student at Claflin University in Orangeburg, South Carolina.

According to an incident report, she gave birth to the little boy in her dorm room, wrapped the child in a plastic bag and put it in a large green open dumpster on campus.

Custodians heard the child crying called 911.  The baby was taken to the hospital and is said to be in good health.
