Baby abducted from Pa. mall found safe
Police announced on Thursday night that 7-week-old Ahsir Simmons who was allegedly abducted from the King of Prussia Mall has been found safe and sound. Police did not release the name of the alleged abductor at this time and do not have a motive. According to investigators, the woman does have ties to the King of Prussia area. Police said in a press briefing that the woman was showing the baby to relatives at a home in Tredyffrin Township.
Investigators say the woman befriended the baby's family Thursday evening and was sitting at the food court with them when the baby's mother went to attend to other children. The woman was holding the child.
"While dealing with other children on the phone our suspect walks off with the baby," Upper Merion Chief Thomas Nolan said.
Police said they got a tip that led them to the home. Police issued an Amber Alert Thursday night after the baby was allegedly taken right after 5:30 p.m.
