PLAINFIELD, N.J. (AP) — Authorities have identified a man killed in a northern New Jersey street shooting that also left a woman and a child injured.

But a possible motive for Friday afternoon's shooting in Plainfield remains under investigation.

Union County prosecutors say Anthony Bowles was found by police who responded to reports of shots fired in the 300 block of Evona Avenue. The 24-year-old Plainfield man was taken to a hospital, but died there a short time later.

A 6-year-old girl was treated at a hospital for gunshot wounds to the leg, but her injuries were not considered life-threatening. A 33-year-old woman who was wound in the shooting was treated at the scene. Their names have not been released.
