Ants form floating island to survive flooding

NEW YORK (FOX 5 NY) - Widespread flooding in South Carolina has forced residents and ants to seek refuge. A floating swarm of fire ants was found in Greenville County on Sunday. Researchers say fire ants can form life rafts out of their own bodies. The colonies link together to create a weave that allows them to float.
