94-year-old woman victim of violent home invasion
ATLANTA - A 94-year-old woman is recovering from injuries, after police said an intruder broke into her home and violently attacked her.
Reginald Pass is being held in the DeKalb County Jail on charges of aggravated battery, abuse of an elderly person and home invasion.
The attack on the elderly woman, who neighbors told FOX 5 was legally blind, has shaken the East Lake community in northeast Atlanta where Pass is well known in the area for offering yard work services.
One of the sons of the woman told FOX 5 she is "not in good shape" and still healing from the attack.
In an incident report on Sept. 30, police said they found the senior badly bruised with a black eye and bleeding from the attack inside her home. She reported that Pass, who she had hired herself for yard work in the past, came to her home and forced his way inside. When she attempted to flee into the bedroom, the police report stated Pass repeatedly struck her and threatened to kill her.
Pass was arrested a short time later and taken to jail.
Pass' bond is set at $15,000 and his next court date is Oct. 17.
