8-year-old girl to hug a police officer in every state
DETROIT - A little girl is traveling the country to fulfill her mission of hugging a police officer in every state.
Rosalind Baldwin of Louisiana recently travelled all the way to Detroit to spread some cheer by hugging some officers.
Rosalind was inspired to start her mission after three police officers in Baton Rouge, Louisiana were murdered in 2016. Rosalind reached out to the department in her hometown with hugs to help them heal and now she wants to spread that feeling.
Her stop in Michigan was her 28th state so far and the officers in Detroit said they appreciated what she was doing.
“She’s a little angel,” Detroit Police Chief James Craig told Fox 2 Detroit.
Rosalind might have a lot of love for police officers, but that doesn’t mean she necessarily wants to be one when she grows up as she told Fox 2 Detroit she wants to be a veterinarian.
If what she’s done for the officers is any indication, her future patients are in good hands.
