70-year-old woman punched in face in supermarket

Police in New York City are looking for two attackers who socked an elderly woman in the face at a Bronx supermarket.

It happened at the Key Food store on Jerone Ave. in the Norword section of the borough.

The NYPD says the 70-year-old woman was in line and realized she had forgotten something and told the cashier she needed to quickly grab it.

The woman told the cashier to take other customers while she was gone.  Two men got to the check-out counter just as the woman returned and put the other item on the conveyor belt.

The men started arguing with the elderly woman before each of them punched her in the face and they took off.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crimestoppers at 800-577-TIPS.  Police say that all calls are confidential.
