56-year-old model appears in SI Swimsuit issue

NEW YORK (FOX 5 NY) - A 56-year-old model is making history in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue due out Feb. 16.

Nicola Griffin is wearing a gold bikini in the advertisement for swimwear manufacturer Swimsuits For All.

She is reportedly the oldest swimsuit model to appear in the magazine's annual and highly anticipated issue.

"Young and skinny is typical," Swimsuits for All CEO Moshe Lanaido told Adweek, "but we're saying it can also be curvy and older women."

Last year, Sports Illustrated featured plus-sized models in the issue for the first time.
