Cristian Antonio Villagran-Morales, Vanesa Alvarado
GAITHERSBURG, Md. - An alleged member of the violent MS-13 gang has been sentenced to 40-years in prison after she pleaded guilty in the murder case of a man who investigators say was stabbed over 150 times.
20-year-old Vanesa Alvarado was sentenced for her role in the murder of 18-year-old Cristian Antonio Villagran-Morales who was found dead in a Gaithersburg park in June of 2016.
Court documents say Alvarado lured Villagran-Morales, who was suspected as being a member of a rival gang, to wooded area with the promise of sex. Once at the location, court documents say Alvarado signaled to four other gang members who then attacked Villagran-Morales.
The court papers say the other gang members stabbed Villagran-Morales over 150 times and left his body in the woods.
Family members discovered his body and contacted police. Officers arrested Alvarado and say she confessed to the murder. She was charged with first degree murder and conspiracy to commit first degree murder and pleaded guilty earlier this month.
This crime was one of several gang-related murders reported in Montgomery County during the spring and summer of last year.
