NEWARK, N.J. (AP) — Violence in New Jersey's largest city has claimed the lives of four people in a single day.
The Essex County Prosecutor's Office says it all began Wednesday just after midnight when 32-year-old Andre Singh and another man were shot on Sanford Avenue in Newark. Singh died at a hospital.
An hour later, another person was gunned down on Ridgewood Avenue. His name has not been released.
A third man died when he was stabbed during an apparent home burglary on Van Buren just after 3 p.m.
And a fourth person was shot and killed just before 8 p.m. on 11th Street.
No suspects have been identified.
