3 arrested in brutal attack on Long Island
NEW YORK (FOX5NY) - Police on Long Island have arrested three people on attempted murder charges in connection with a brutal attack. Nassau County Police say that it happened in Valley Stream on Monday at about 8:20 p.m.
Police say a 27-year-old man was trying to recover items belonging to a female acquaintance. They say he went into 100 Jedwood Place and was confronted by the occupants. Police say he was kicked, punched and hit in the head with a black handgun.
The victim was then handcuffed, put in a bathtub and stabbed repeatedly with a steak knife.
They then put him in a car and drove him to Midvale Lane and dumped him.
The victim walked to a hospital and was being treated for his injuries.
Johnathan Faneytt, 21, of Valley Stream is charged with Attempted Murder 2nd degree, Kidnapping 2nd degree, Criminal Possession Controlled Substance 3rd degree, 2 counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd degree, Criminal Possession of a Firearm, 3 counts Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th degree and unrelated warrant charges.
Jesus V. Maldonado, 22, of West Hempstead is charged with Attempted Murder 2nd degree, Kidnapping 2nd degree, 2 counts of Criminal Possession of Weapon 3rd degree, Criminal Possession of a Firearm and Possession of a Dangerous Weapon 4th degree.
Jorge Freire-Romero, 19, of Valley Stream is charged with Attempted Murder 2nd degree, Kidnapping 2nd degree, Criminal Possession of a Firearm, Possession of a Dangerous Weapon 4th degree and Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th degree.
They were due to be arraigned on Wednesday in Hempstead.
