2 employees bound during robbery at Newark airport
Police are looking for two suspects in a robbery at Newark Liberty International Airport. Port Authority Police spokesman Joe Pentangelo says two masked men bound two employees and fled with cash from the Smart Carte office in the prescreening area inside Terminal B on Sunday.
Some reports put the amount of cash stolen at $120,000. The workers were still tied up when the police arrived. No one was injured and airport operations were not interrupted.
At least one of the men was reportedly armed with a gun.
Smart Carte provides self-serve luggage carts, electronic lockers, commercial strollers and massage chairs.
