16-year-old shot in head near Hofstra

NEW YORK (FOX5NY) - Police on Long Island say a teenager was in critical condition on Wednesday morning after being shot in the head in Uniondale.  His name was not released.

It happened very close to the campus of Hofstra University at about 11:30 p.m. on Fenimore Ave.

Police say the victim started arguing with two teens, who shot him in the head and then took off on bicycles.

No arrests have been made.  Detectives ask anyone with information to contact Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS.  Police say that all callers will remain anonymous.
