15 arrested during Hoboken Lepre-Con bar crawl
HOBOKEN, N.J. (AP) — Authorities say more than a dozen people were arrested during a St. Patrick's Day-themed Lepre-Con bar crawl in Hoboken.
NJ.com reports Police Chief Ken Ferrante says 15 people, including a former college football player were arrested Saturday. That's four more arrests than last year's event.
Ferrante says the former football player broke a police officer's ribs and dislocated another's shoulder.
Police say officers issued 54 tickets for violations including public drinking and urination and disorderly conduct. That's down from 93 tickets in 2015. More than 30 participants were also taken to hospitals.
Ferrante says he's disturbed over the event and won't tolerate officers being injured for the "purposes of a few to make a financial profit at the expense of our residents."
