12th suspect arrested in murder of Bronx teen
NEW YORK (FOX5NY) - Police in Connecticut have arrested a 12th suspect in the murder of Bronx teen Lesandro "Junior" Guzman-Feliz.
Monday afternoon at approximately 2:30 p.m., troopers from Troop A-Southbury conducted a motor vehicle stop on I-84 eastbound near Exit 13 in Southbury.
Several people were in the vehicle, however the operator was considered a suspect in the 14-year-old's murder.
The NYPD was headed to Connecticut to continue the investigation and start extradition procedures.
A group used knives and a machete to attack the boy on Wednesday, June 20 at a bodega. The killing sparked a citywide outcry and a number of arrests of members of the gang believed to be behind the murder.
The NYPD said the suspects are members of the Trinitarios gang and wrongly targeted Guzman-Feliz, who had no ties to any gang activity and was in the NYPD's Explorers program.
