1,000s of documents subpoenaed in City Hall investigation

More than six months into a federal investigation of possible pay-to-play schemes in City Hall and there is reportedly insufficient evidence to warrant criminal charges against Mayor Bill de Blasio or his aides.

However, according to the same report in the NY Times Wednesday, federal investigators recently subpoenaed thousands of documents and emails from City Hall in search of proof of any special favors by the administration to campaign 2013 donors.

Among the donors in question are Broadway Stages, a sound stage company, which needed permits to expand. It  gave donations to several causes important to the administration.

Also, the sale of Long Island College Hospital is reportedly under scrutiny for alleged misappropriations.

De Blasio has denied any wrongdoings.
