NYC to fine small residential buildings without official trash bins starting Tuesday

Starting Tuesday, September 8, 2026, New York City will begin issuing $50 fines to properties with one to nine residential units that fail to set out trash in official dark gray NYC Bins. The enforcement follows the end of a warnings-only grace period.
