FDNY issues urgent warning after Bronx e-bike battery fire kills 10-year-old boy

Officials are warning that lithium-ion battery fires are rising at an alarming rate in New York City. According to FDNY data, lithium-ion batteries have caused more than 400 fires across NYC so far this year—claiming six lives and injuring more than 70 people—a sharp rise compared to last year.
