Investigators pursue new leads in Nancy Guthrie disappearance
video

Investigators served a search warrant overnight at a home connected to the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie, who has been missing for two weeks, but authorities say no arrests were made. The Pima County Sheriff’s Department said the warrant was based on a lead. Investigators also conducted a traffic stop and questioned a person, but no arrests were reported. Authorities say DNA recovered at Guthrie’s property is still being analyzed, and investigators are testing several gloves found as far as 10 miles from her home to determine whether they are connected to the case. The FBI is urging the public to focus on a masked man wearing gloves seen in doorbell video outside Guthrie’s home. Investigators described the person as about 5-foot-9 to 5-foot-10, average build, carrying an Ozark Trail hiker backpack. A $100,000 reward is being offered for information that could lead to Guthrie’s location or the arrest and conviction of anyone involved.

Study: Coffee and tea linked to lower dementia risk
video

A major new study published in JAMA suggests that moderate consumption of coffee and tea may be linked to a lower risk of dementia. Researchers followed more than 130,000 adults for decades and found that people who drank caffeinated coffee and tea had a lower risk of developing dementia compared to those who drank little or none. The strongest associations were seen among people who consumed about 2–3 cups of coffee or 1–2 cups of tea per day. The study also found links between moderate caffeine intake and better cognitive performance over time. However, researchers stress that the findings show an association — not proof that coffee or tea prevents dementia. As always, experts recommend moderation and speaking with your doctor about what’s right for your health.
