October 27th, 1904 was a day that marked the first time a subway train car ran beneath New York City! 120 years later, the transit system remains the largest public transportation agency in North America and one of the largest in the world. It has also become an iconic symbol of New York City. The milestone anniversary is being celebrated in an exhibit at the New York Transit Museum called "The Subway Is …" and invites visitors to explore its profound impact on the city's development, culture, and identity. Museum Director Concetta Bencivenga gives us a preview. Also, the issue of bullying remains widespread throughout our communities for children and even for adults. For those with facial differences, research reveals that over a quarter of people with a disfigurement have experienced a hate crime. It's why Brooklyn-based Artist and Teacher Celina Leroy is using her work to not only raise awareness about the subject, but to also end the stigma surrounding facial differences. And, they have been presenting live dance, music, theater, and other performance-based art throughout Brooklyn for over 35 years. Now, 651 Arts is celebrating a new milestone! They now have a permanent home, a cultural performance space with hopes of having a positive impact on the community for many more years to come! Executive Director Toya Lillard talks about how the space will impact the community.

The former longtime CEO of Abercrombie & Fitch has pleaded not guilty to federal sex trafficking and interstate prostitution charges. Michael Jeffries declined to comment Friday after he entered the plea in federal court in Central Islip, New York. He is free on $10 million bond and is due back in court on Dec. 12. Prosecutors allege that the 80-year-old Jeffries, his romantic partner and a third man, James Jacobson, lured men into outlandish, drug-fueled sex parties in the Hamptons, on Long Island, by dangling the promise of modeling for the retailer?s ads.
