Long Island track star Zariel Macchia didn?t just win on the track?she won in court. After being banned from the New York State Track and Field Championship for violating the state?s college rule, Macchia and her family fought back with a lawsuit. A judge ruled in her favor, allowing her to compete?and she went on to win her seventh state title in the 3,000 meters. Now, as she heads to BYU, she?s determined to prevent other athletes from facing similar hurdles. FOX 5 New York?s Kendall Green has her inspiring story.

A Palestinian woman who was arrested during the 2024 protests was arrested by immigration authorities, while a second 'self-deported.'

A New Jersey EMT is being recognized as a hometown hero after rescuing teenagers trapped in a school bus crash on the Garden State Parkway. Matt Goldman, a Tri-Boro EMT and nursing student, was the first person to pull over and provide aid after the bus flipped over in Montvale. His quick response helped save a 14-year-old child trapped under the vehicle. In appreciation, the Montvale mayor awarded him the key to the borough, and he was honored by both the state legislature and his fellow EMTs. FOX 5 New York?s Teresa Priolo has the story.
