Dig deeper:

Throughout the weekend, FOX plans to feature storytelling, tributes and on-air moments that recognize the service and sacrifice of veterans. Coverage will also spotlight life at both academies as cadets and midshipmen prepare for their military careers after graduation.

What they're saying:

"FOX Sports is proud to expand our longstanding tradition of saluting America’s military heroes by bringing together two of our most iconic pregame shows for an unprecedented two-day tribute from West Point and Annapolis," offered Eric Shanks, FOX Sports CEO and Executive Producer. "There is no more meaningful backdrop than these two storied institutions and we look forward to celebrating America’s veterans and the enduring bond between military service and sports across Veterans Day weekend."

The backstory:

FOX Sports has a history of saluting troops as part of Veterans Day broadcasts. In the past, events have originated from stateside locations like Fort Benning, Marine Corps Air Station Miramar-San Diego, Naval Station Norfolk, and Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, along with the U.S. Air Force Academy, West Point, and the Naval Academy.

Overseas stops have included Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar, Bagram Airfield in Afghanistan, and the USS Harry S. Truman in the Mediterranean Sea.
