Tiny Brooklyn eatery among 'Best New Restaurants'

A hidden gem behind the Franklin Avenue train stop in Crown Heights, Brooklyn, is getting some national recognition. Bon Appétit magazine recently featured Hart's in its Best New Restaurants list.

Chef/owner Nick Perkins said he is really excited by the honor.

"I woke up and got 30 text messages," Perkins says.

He opened the Mediterranean restaurant 8 months ago. The cozy bistro seats just 32 people and the menu changes daily.

"No matter what you do, it's kind of allways an intimate experience," Perkins says.

Only two things always stay on the menu: the lamb burger and the clam toast. Bon Appétit recommends you order both.

I was a customer before actually being employed here, something I really loved and enjoyed is now getting nationally recognized,"  bartender Daniel Hrcsko says.

Hart's is open 6 days a week for dinner with brunch on weekends.  Because of the tiny dining room getting in really depends on the night but they do take reservations so plan ahead.
