Second prize Mega Millions tickets sold in NY, NJ

One lucky Mega Millions winning ticket was sold in South Carolina. The estimated jackpot is $1.6 billion or $913.7 million in cash.

There were 36 second prize winners including four winning tickets sold in New York State and two in New Jersey.

The winning numbers for October 23 were 5, 28, 62, 65 and 70, plus the gold Mega Ball 5.

To win the second prize of $1 million, you must have all the winning numbers except the Mega Ball.

The local winning tickets were sold at the following locations:

7-Eleven #11211h, 722 Townline Road, Hauppauge (Quick Pick)

Stew Leonard's, 1 Stew Leonard's Dr, Yonkers (Quick Pick)

A&C mini market inc, 7701 17th Ave, Brooklyn (Quick Pick)

Stop & Shop # 2591, 2965 Cropsey Ave, Brooklyn (Quick Pick)

There were also second prize tickets sold in California, Florida, Massachusetts, Michigan, North Carolina, Virginia, Arizona, the District of Columbia, Iowa, Kentucky, Missouri, New Mexico, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas and Wisconsin.

In Texas and Florida, a winner in each state matched five numbers including the optional Megaplier. Those tickets are worth $3 million each.
